Watch Dancing With the Stars season 27 on ABC starting September 24 at 8 p.m. ET. "Sorry, NBA players and Olympic figure skaters. Despite DWTS having an all-athletes edition for season 26, this upcoming one will follow the original format. That means you can expect a cast full of actors, reality stars, and singers. Another one from Utah. So many of the dancers on the show are from there. (YDH, YJH, Lindsay, Witney, Chelsie Hightower, and now Jenna)
I wonder what it is about the great state of Utah that produces all these outstanding ballroom dancers?
Yeah, I think I'm going to pass on Juniors, Robin. Just read the accompanying article from the link you posted yesterday, and it does sound kinda "weird"...like a show I need to give a good leaving alone to

Well, if she's paired with Val, she must be a pretty good dancer, but Nancy McKeon doesn't do much for me, Robin. I hope she is not the headline star this time around, or else we might be in for a long season.
When is the full line-up going to be announced? Must be soon. The season begins in less than three weeks

Well, at least there's no one associated with the #MeToo movement on the list, Robin. I thought maybe there would be. So that's good I don't think I could take a full season's worth of that female empowerment/man bashing BS But otherwise it looks like a pretty weak cast to me Not since the season of Mr & Mrs PrimaVera do I remember a line-up that was this lacking in star power. Pretty underwhelming bunch, don't you think? But there's always someone to root for. Happens every season. This one will be no different, I'm sure My halfassed pre-season prediction based on nothing except a hunch is that Juan Pablo (aka Jesus) will be a ballroom sensation. This guy is really good looking. (See photo below) Every time Cheryl by the way dances with a hunky movie actor nobody's ever heard of (Gilles Marini and William Levy, for instance), she makes it to the final. Expect the same result with her and Juan Pablo  |

I heard on the news that many of them are being allowed to return to their homes today, electricity on, gas still off. They still don't know what caused this.
Lots of pets being temporarily sheltered at the MSPCA in Methuen. I wish it was convenient for me to get over there and donate some dog food.
Meanwhile, I had my own catastrophic event. Mice nest, a ginormous one under the hood of my car. Don't understand it as the car is driven or run everyday for at least a few miles.
Under control for now, mechanic helped me and cleaned out as much as he could, he advised me to place moth balls in the trunk (in a nylon sock) and taped under the hood as a deterrent. Dead mouse smell is horrendous! If it doesn't go away, they have to take the dashboard apart $$
I am driving with windows open for now.
Luckily they did not chew on the wiring (something they love to do).

So what happened? You brought the car into your mechanic because of the odor, and he discovered the nest?
How many mice are in a "nest" by the way? Dozens? Hundreds?

I looked under the hood and found the nest, the mice are long gone. Bad scene for sure. Mechanic says it's not unusual.
Mice can destroy a car!!!

My wife had a some mice nesting in her glove compartment several years ago. I would have never thought that was possible until I saw it!

What did you do to deter the mice from coming back? I am going with mothballs. I don't understand it. I don't leave food in the car or anything like that.

That's a tiny one, lol!
Mine was in the insulation that lines the hood, then there were more near the air ducts, under where the windshield wipers are.

I had a dead mouse in a basement ceiling once a few years ago, so I know what one smells like. Very unpleasant
I imagine the odor is worse inside the confined area of a car though
What a terrible situation. Ugh

The smell is slowly fading. The moth balls have an irritating smell also :-(
I hope they don't come back. I'm looking under my hood at least once a day. I read the mice don't like that!
Everybody should check under their hood, especially in the winter. I never thought this would happen, I keep a clean car, no clutter....

Two days ago I didn't even know what a mouse nest was. (Mice hang out in nests? Who knew?) Now forty eight hours later I'm afraid to look under the hood of my car for fear of what I may find inside Robin, this is all your fault!  But seriously, glad to hear that the smell is dissipating. Hopefully it will all be gone soon, and you can go back to rolling up your windows |
