It was a long night, Robin. A lot of performances to get through. I struggled to stay awake the whole way myself
There are several fine dancers this season though
DeMarcus Ware, the ex-football player, looks like he might be the best Juan Pablo, my pre-season pick, also very good (he got a standing O) Alexis & Tanishe (whoever they are) each performed a jive and were outstanding
I don't know who I'm rooting for yet, but I know already who I'm rooting against: that Bobby Bones guy. Did you see him, Robin? After his number he started jumping around and carrying on like a ******* jackass. This dude needs to go
I think the first elimination though will be "Grocery Store Joe", who is most famous for being sent home first from "The Bachelorette" this season. The same fate probably awaits him this evening as well. He received only 14 points which were three fewer than the next lowest performer. That's a lot of points
If not him, then it will be Nikki
One other thing: Nancy McKeon, whose hair is darker than 10,000 midnights, looked like a pregnant bride in her white gown last night. What a pot belly on that gal!

Yeah, I noticed that about Nancy too. Bobby Bones, seriously, all I could think of was he must be high on something. Nobody is that happy naturally.

You were right! Nikki. I didn't think she was as bad as some of the others. I think this show is hard to watch because they don't have any real movie stars this season.
The kids dancing was weird. Celebrity kids.

Yeah, Nikki danced pretty well both nights and seemed to enjoy her time on the show (albeit brief), unlike Grocery Store Joe who appeared unhappy to me when it was announced he was safe. Maybe that's just the way he reacts to good news? I dunno
Thumbs down on Juniors, Robin. They gave it the ol' hard-sell last night, but didn't work on me. I'll stick to football Sunday night

Few legit stars this season, Robin, but plenty of quality dancers, and more solid performances again last night too
Nearly 2/3 of the scores were 8 or above, including seven 9's. When was the last time that happened in a Week 2? Probably never
I'm expecting either Grocery Store Joe or sightless gal Danelle to be sent home tonight. But I'm hoping it's Bobby "Jackass" Bones
PS What is the status of your mouse odor problem?

Hi, Ache I'm not sure who to root for? Tinashe is good. That tall thin one (can't think of her name) has potential. What about the one that looks like a male model, he has Cheryl for a partner. That dress Nancy wore was ugly! I bet Artem is relieved, I can't imagine how hard that must have been for Danelle and him. It was hard to watch. The mouse odor is almost gone. I will take it in to the dealer for a thorough checkup in the spring. Want to get through the winter first. I check under the hood now at least once a day. Still don't understand how it happened

Hi, Robin
Two nights in a row/12 dances each night. That's too much even for me. I'm suffering from DWTS overload right now
Q: It was Vegas Night tonight. Emma & Jon Schneider dressed as Elvis impersonators and they danced their jive to...King Creole? What the hell? That's New Orleans! Why didn't they dance it to Viva Las Vegas??? That would have been more appropriate! Geez
Tanishe is my number one right now. Wow, she's good. But there are four other HQD's (High Quality Dancers): Demarcus, Alexis (ie, the thin one), Juan Pablo, and young Milo. It's shaping up to be an entertaining season IMO
Agree about Danelle. I'm actually glad she was eliminated tonight. Too difficult of a handicap to overcome
Glad to ear about the mouse odor!

Missed at least the first half of the show. Woke up to see Bobby Bones and the ones that followed. Nancy's gone. No surprise.
What a sad story Bobby B told. Geez, no wonder.....
Tinashe continues to excel, what a break for her newbie partner if they win!

I was surprised actually to see Nancy voted out last night. There are a few others who deserved elimination before she did. Hate to see someone who is obviously loving her experience on the show being sent home before it's her time to go. Oh, well
Tinashe is awesome, yes, but somehow she landed in the bottom 2! What's up with that? I was shocked by that result
Also don't know if you saw, Robin, but Juan Pablo received three 10's for his samba. First perfect score of the season. That guy is king of the Latin dances And kudos to young Milo for his daring back flip off the judge's table. That was something else
The Irish girl too. She had a very good night

I saw Juan Pablo last night. Talk about eye candy for the women, lol.
Shocker about Tinashe. Caught the first 2 or 3 dances, missed the middle but awoke to see Bobby Bones in that silly outfit!

Ache,
I forgot to mention, I watched a little of the kiddie DWTS on Sunday night. AWFUL! I lasted about 15 minutes.

Hi, Robin
Yup, Juan Pablo performed a steamy rumba (or whatever it was) with sexy Melissa Rycroft last night. I thought he got underscored though. He deserved better IMO than the three 8's the judges gave him
Another elimination and another gal booted off the show! That's four in a row now; everyone eliminated so far has been female. Tinashe, though by far the best, and arguably this season's finest dancer
Meanwhile Grocery Store Joe has yet to score above a 6, and he's still here! I guess "Bachelor" fans are voting in big numbers, and that's what's keeping him around, but he needs to go. He's awful
PS I haven't seen any of Juniors yet. I keep forgetting it's on!

No elimination on Disney Night? Since when is that a thing? It's not a thing. It's never been a thing
They only made it a thing because they didn't want to send one of the better dancers home tonight
I'd have hated to see either DeMarcus or Alexis eliminated, but I don't like it when outcomes are manipulated behind the scenes
Bad enough we had to sit through the annual DWTS two hour long commercial for Disney Pixar. But no elimination too? Ugh
Me no like-y. They'll probably spring a surprise double elimination on us at some point now. Not good!

I agree! Again, I had trouble staying awake, it being Disney night didn't help. Caught the dramatic non-elimination I hope next week is better.

I had trouble staying awake last night too, Robin. I caught myself dozing off several times briefly during the second hour
All the Disney worship was brutal to sit through. Not kidding either. I couldn't wait for the show to be over with actually
Then at the end they try to play it off as if "no elimination" is some sort of Disney Week tradition, which it absolutely is not
As loyal DWTS fans from way back, Robin, we should feel insulted right now, right? I know I do, but okay. I'll get over it...

Robin:
The Patriots are playing on Monday Night Football, so I will be watching the game tonight. I'll try to catch what I can of DWT during time outs though
I'm expecting one of the better dancers to be eliminated by the way. Hope it isn't Demarcus

Watched the whole thing, huh? Nice going, Robin! I knew you'd do it:)
Alexis seems like a nice gal to me, but in the video I saw last night Alan appeared reluctant to commit to her. I think he'd be nuts to tell her no. Just sayin'
Looks like it's going to be an all male finale this season. Fifth female in a row voted out last night. Only gals left are Alexis and Evanna, neither of whom have much of a shot IMO. Juan Pablo has to be considered the favorite at this point. Milo, second
PS I was not unhappy to learn Mary Lou got the boot. I found her rather unappealing for some reason

They are both very young (Alexis and Alan).
Maybe Alan plays for the other team?
His Facebook page indicates that he is very close to his mother.

"plays for the other team"
Yeah, that thought crossed my mind too, Robin lol

Alan seems like a bright guy. Could be he wants to wait till this DWTS thing is over to examine his feelings. There is a thing called transference that often occurs in teacher/student relationships similar to therapist/patient relationships. It's more like infatuation than love. Maybe Alan does not want to take advantage of the situation like Bill did with Monica the intern

|
Post by Ache on Oct 31, 2018 22:10:32 GMT -5
I hadn't thought of it like that, Robin, but it makes sense. Student/teacher is not an equal relationship. Maybe Alan just figures it's better to wait before starting up a romance Although the student/teacher boundary never stopped golddigger Kym Johnson, did it?

Post by gttd on Nov 1, 2018 2:19:43 GMT -5
Yeah, but Kym and Robert were mature adults and anyway from what I understand they didn't really start dating till after they were eliminated from DWTS.
But you are right, she didn't waste any time. Can you blame her? Lol
Robert has plenty of money and power. I doubt that he felt exploited. In fact he was the aggressor and pursued her.

|
Post by Ache on Nov 1, 2018 16:40:30 GMT -5
I don't blame her either, Robin. It's not every day a gal gets hit on by a half billionaire. When it happens, she needs to go for it:)
I agree it's a different dynamic too when teacher and student are both older adults. An older person might still be taken advantage of in that situation, but that's not what happened with Kym & Robert

Good show last night. Just a couple more to weed out, lol. It would be funny if Alexis and Alan won. Maybe Alan is using Alexis's attraction toward him to bring out her best performance. He didn't look all that excited when he told her that he returns her feelings. Seemed a little lukewarm to me

Post by Ache on Nov 6, 2018 17:41:37 GMT -5
I missed a lot of the show last night, Robin. I saw only the first three dances and the group dances. Nothing in between. So I have a lot of catching up to do
Sorry to see John eliminated. He seems like a nice guy to me who's going through a rough period right now. A true gentleman
I'm starting to think Grocery Store Joe is going to win the whole thing which would be a travesty. The fact he's still around at this point and never having even been in jeopardy I don't think is outrageous. His vote totals must be immense to offset his low scores.

Shocker! Juan Pablo eliminated? Even the judges were in disbelief. Keo finally has a partner (Evanna) that made it to the finals. Wouldn't it be something if they won. Keo works hard, I'm rooting for him. Alexis and Allan have a good chance too. I know Milo is good, but he's a kid. Read "Personal life" on his mom en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camryn_Manheim

Interesting nugget you found on Wikipedia, Robin. I'll never be able to look at Milo the same way ever again now. Is he even human? lol
Major upset last night. Maybe the most shocking elimination in DWTS history, I'm not sure
Len said he'd go home and "pickle my walnuts" if Juan Pablo failed to make the finale. Well, happy pickling, Len!
I'm bummed about the result, but like you I'll be rooting for Keo now to rise up and finally break the Keo Curse. I think he might do it too. Evanna is a solid partner who's been performing very well of late: a perfect score in her first dance last night, near perfect in her second. She received three 10's last week too if I'm not mistaken. So she is peaking at just the right time
Go, Keo!

That wasn't right! I wanted Keo and Evanna to win. Bummer. This whole season has not made sense. And now this, Bobby Bones wins?
I'll be watching the morning shows to see them today. They didn't announce who came in 2nd and 3rd...maybe I missed it.
