Hi, Ache
Just checking in, I caught most of last night's show. Disney isn't one of my favorite themes :/ I missed Normani's performance, will try to catch up. I thought the judges were a bit harsh on David Ross. Erika leaving was no surprise.

Yeah, I hate Disney Week too, Robin. A shameless two hour sales pitch/publicity barrage for Disney movies and merchandise. It's rather sickening actually
And the dumb outfits everyone puts on. Poor Nick looked ridiculous in his Pinocchio suit, didnt he? They even made him shave his beard too. Geesh
Normani was fantasti again last night. A very intense & fiery paso. Sorry you missed it, but it is probably already up on youtube by now, I'm sure
PS Fourth week in a row America sent the worst remaining celeb dancer home. Way to go, America! Youre batting .1000 so far this season. Keep up the good work

I just watched Normani and Val on YouTube. You are right, they were excellent. I wouldn't be surprised if they win this thing.

I saw the first dancer - the football player? - he wasn't bad, but I thought there was at least one 7 in there. Then I remembered the Bruins were on, so I had to switch channels. I even managed to stay up to the bitter end for that. I never make it past 9 if DTWS is what we're watching. The schtick is getting old. All of it, Maryanne's speaking in tongues, Bruno getting out of his chair, the Hough chick (I still don't know her name) blathering. Len used to have his cranky schtick, but now he just seems to call them , for better or worse, as he sees them.
What really gets me though, is the over the top production, with the cameras flying all over the place. To me, that suggests the dance isn't all that great if they have to use those tricks.
I'm just in it for the hot pro or two that catch my eye. This year it's Sharna. Peta doesn't do it for me any more. So, go Sharna! And whoever you're dragging around the dance floor.

Almost forgot, go Nancy Kerrigan. Go away that is. I watched 10 minutes and still had to watch her crying about something in a teaser. Jeezus, almost makes me wish for Mark Ballas instead.

If America is going to keep batting .1000, it will have to eliminate either Bonner or Nick tonight. Preferably Bonner. If any of the other six are voted out, it will be the first surprise exit of the season IMO
An even bigger surprise though will be if Slim makes it past 8:30. I put the odds at 100-1. A long shot, but as of yesterday he doesnt have the Bruins as an excuse anymore, so maybe tonight's the night?

Bonner or Nick, I don't care. Both are boring. PS: I think I can make it through the whole show tonight.

Yeah, there's nothing exciting about either one. More so Bonner though. For some reason I just dont like the kid, so I hope it's him tonight
PS I'm counting on you to last the full two hours, Robin:)

I made it! That was a surprise. Even when they got down to the final two, I expected Nancy to be the one to go.
Normani is still leading the pack, IMO.
Maks looked well rested, he must be angry. Doesn't seem fair.

Wow, what a miserable result. First shocker of the season and a big one too. The viewers really got it wrong this time. Really really got it wrong
I'm a little pissed at them right now, Robin, I must say:) I was ready to place Heather & Maks in my top 4
Simone was the first person announced as being safe tonight. To me that's the show's subtle/not so subtle way of indicating she is the leading vote getter and the one to beat (although I could be reading too much into that)
I agree with you however. Normani is the better dancer. Much more sex appeal too. If she makes it to the final, I think she'll win
Kudos btw for making it through the entire show tonight:)

I made it to 9:30. Missed the team dance off, and still have no idea who it was that got eliminated. Hate to say it, but Sharna's 'star' was probably my least favorite of the lot. Normani and the football player are my favorites. Even Nancy wasn't too bad the other night.
... hmmm, reading Ache's post, it sounds like Maks and his partner got axed? Didn't they get perfect 10's across the board, or did I just dream that, because I was sort of nodding off at times?

Yes. Heather & Maks got the axe
He promised her a 10 Monday night, and they ended up earning four of them
Then a half hour later they received the bad news
I think if Maks hadnt gotten injured and missed those 3-4 weeks, Heather would still be on the show. The replacement pro, Alan, did a good job with her, but he lacks Maks' strong personality and fan support
I suspect Heather's vote total took a hit as a result. Just enough to get her bounced

I'm slowly catching up. I've read that Heather had an awful lot of previous dance experience. Perhaps the audience didn't want what amounted to a Pro winning it all.
Some of the Pro's do seem to have a base that always votes for their team, regardless of merit. I don't actually vote, but in my mind I always vote for Peta. And lately for Sharna, although I'm done with her partner now. The only thing that can save them are a reappearance by the Short Shorts!
And there some Pros I just don't like. Gleb? Don't like him. What kind of name is Gleb anyway, that's one strike all by itself. He looks like he's had some sort of plastic surgery on his face. That can't be right because he's so young, but it looks off, unnatural some how. Mark Ballas I couldn't stand. It was a tricky thing. He always seemed to get very young, very bad partners. And he was so good with them. But then he'd blow it because he seemed to need alot of the spotlight on himself.

Heather worked as a back-up dancer for Beyonce once upon a time. Different skill set than ballroom dancing, I suppose, but her prior experience must have helped a lot. Dont know if it impacted her vote totals or not though
Double elimination tomorrow night, so Sharna ShortShorts and her partner are up against it IMO
I'm picking Bonner & Nick again as the ones going home

Another early evening for me. I lasted just long enough for Peta to reignite my flame. And now she's out? So's Slim.
I'm over Sharna and her Cowboy. I could have used a little more of that other Cowgirl in their pre-dance package and less of this dim wit she's dancing with.
Not much else left an impression on me last night. Tom made a quip that I'm sure only somebody from Massachusetts would have got (the light shines on Marblehead). And the Guest Judge was supposedly some sort of dance wiz, or choreographer? Hard to picture.
I have nobody to root for anymore and I'm barely watching anyway. Good luck the rest of the way.

Also, Nancy was less annoying that usual. Didn't burst into tears remembering the time her dog ate the homework or the other time when she broke a shoe lace, or something equally traumatic in her oh-so-difficult life as an Ice Prince. Didn't hear a singe squeal 'why me' once. They must have punished her for earlier sins. Reminds me of that old Bugs Bunny classic cartoon where Yosemite Sam is the heir to a fortune, but he loses a little bit everytime he swears. Bugs is the Executor. At the very end, Sam is showing Bugs how he can take all sorts of abuse and nary a cuss word. Bug turns to the camera and says "I don't have the heart to tell him that there isn't any money left".
Yeah, it was just like that. If you a couple of glasses of wine while you watched anyway.

I still don't have a clue who that guest judge (Mandy Moore) was? Normani is still in the lead, imo Sorry to see Artem go. He is definitely eye candy for the female viewers. Regarding the wine, Yellow Tail Riesling is my current favorite

Well, another surprise/disappointing exit last night. Very sorry to see Nan K go, especially with mediocre Bonner still around
I dont get it. How does that guy weasel his way into the final 5? Makes no sense to me at all. Robin, please explain
Mandy Moore = the choreographer gal responsible for the big production numbers on the show. I always wondered what she looked like (a middle aged Lena Dunham)
An all black final three. That's my latest prediction. Normani wins

I don't understand it either, Ache. I never heard of Bonner before, does he really qualify as a celebrity?
The black three, definitely leading the pack. It's obvious they will win.

Maybe under a very narrow definition he qualifies, Robin. Otherwise, nope, I dont think so lol
PS Always bet on black

If Derek Hough is involved I always bet on white. Otherwise, yup Black is the safe bet. The football player - who I've never heard of and I actually watch a fair amount of the NFL - and Normani and the little Gymnast have been the best of the lot from the start. As far as the Cowboy goes, it just goes to show you the power of Short-shorts. They're still reverberating weeks after their appearance. I can actually take or leave Sharna when she's not sporting them. Peta is the only one that can bring it in a wide variety of skimpy outfits.

Mandy Moore, yup an unlikely looking choreographer. Of course I'm still struggling with Carrie Anne Inaba's qualifications to judge a dance contest. And Bruno's for that matter, we've seen a brief clip of him in his younger days a few seasons back and I thought he -sucked. I have a hard time picturing Len dancing at any age, but he's one of those natural technicians, I think, so can pass as a judge.
Oh boy, I have to prove I'm human again. I hope I pass.

The ones I wear are a bit longer, like Bermuda shorts length. More suitable for an old bag
