In October before the baby was born Maks had this to say:
I'm telling you right now I have zero interest in coming back as a dancer [for Season 24]And this:
The baby comes in January and then a month and a half later I would have to be in L.A. to start training with somebody else...Trust me, I really don't care how this comes across, but there's no money on the planet that can replace me missing out the three, four, five months of my baby's life. Shai, it seems to me, is a name other kids are just naturally going to make fun of
I hope he develops a thick skin to protect him against the taunting he'll likely be subjected to

Ache, DWTS must have made Peta and Maks an offer that they just couldn't refuse. Plus, they will probably bring Shai to work with them, nanny and all.
I guess Shai will be going to Harvard (if he chooses to). LOL
About the name, like I said before, Shai will drop his first name and go by an abbreviation of his middle name "Aleks", as soon as he starts school and notes the reaction of the other kids when he tells them his name is Shai.
It's a no-brainer. Kids can be mean.

YVC (Young Val Chmierkovskiy) will get the best female celeb dancer now. Either him or Manbun, but I think Manbun is still on Broadway, right?
And no Kym Johnson too. Not a shocker. She's so busy spending her billionaire husband's money, she has no time for DWTS anymore. It interferes with her daily shopping binges on Rodeo Drive
Pretty sure we've seen the last of her on the show (except maybe as a fill-in for Erin like that one time last season)

That's good
Figure skaters always do well on the show. Meryl Davis won (with Maks) three years ago, and Evan Lysacek finished second many years back
Gymnasts, even better. Shawn Johnson & Laurie Hernandez both won. Nastia Liukin and Aly Raisman finished 3rd or 4th, something like that
Simone Biles though is only like 4'7". That may be an issue, but regardless she'll be the favorite to win, I'm sure
Mt T will be a disaster. Hopefully the report about him joining the show is fake news

After last week, I had a feeling it was going to end badly for her here, so I'm not surprised by today's news
It's a shame though
A message board that is badly hurting for membership, booting off one of its few active members

Wow. Sasha lucks out getting paired with Simone, huh? Nice early wedding gift from the show. Thank you very much
He's used to partnering with short people too, so I doubt her height should be much of an issue
Remains to be seen how good a dancer Simone is, but I have a feeling she is going to crush it. Better even than Laurie H
I'll be rooting for David Ross though. He played for the Red Sox a few years ago and had some key hits in the 2013 World Series. Good guy too, so he has my full support
I'm also expecting big things from Nancy & Artem. They should do well. Artem finally has a decent partner
And it looks like Maks has a ringer this time. Back up dancing and ballroom dancing/two different things, but it never hurts to have a celeb partner with pro experience
Disappointed in no Billy Bush, but overall, not a bad line-up. I recognize eight out of the twelve...67%. That's a higher recognition percentage than usual, I think:)

Yes, it should be an interesting season. I'm suspicious of Charo's reported age.....I thought she was about 5 years older. According to Wikipedia, she would have been age 15 when she married her first husband Xavier Cugat (the bandleader with the Chihuahuas). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CharoI guess it's possible, stranger things have happened. |
