Apparently the Angry Cheeto has had an epiphany of sorts about the swamp in D.C. ... he's now come to the conclusion that the swamp ain't so bad after all and he feels quite comfortable wallowing in the muck ... and it only took him 10 days in office collapse like a jellyfish. But hey ... at least he signed some lobbyist ban or something ... woohoo! That was then ... Donald Trump said tonight he could save Medicare billions of dollars by allowing it to negotiate drug prices directly with pharmaceutical companies -- embracing a position Democrats have championed and Republicans have opposed for years.
The Associated Press quotes Trump as telling a crowd in Farmington, N.H., that Medicare, a huge buyer of prescription drugs, could "save $300 billion" a year if it negotiated discounts.
"We don't do it," he said. "Why? Because of the drug companies."
Democrats have wanted to give Medicare that power at least since 2003, when the Medicare drug benefit law was passed — but the Republicans have always blocked it.
The Democrats, including the 2016 presidential candidates, support Medicare drug negotiations, and President Barack Obama has called for that policy in his budgets.
The pharmaceutical industry, a major player on Capitol Hill, has blocked such proposals.
www.politico.com/story/2016/01/trump-backs-medicare-negotiating-drug-prices-218215As recently as January 11, President-elect Trump was promising to revisit this policy.
“Pharma has a lot of lobbies, a lot of lobbyists and a lot of power. And there’s very little bidding on drugs,” he said at a press conference at Trump Tower in Manhattan. “We’re the largest buyer of drugs in the world, and yet we don’t bid properly.”www.vox.com/platform/amp/policy-and-politics/2017/1/31/14453740/trump-medicare-prescription-drugs?utm_source=fark&utm_medium=website&utm_content=link&ICID=ref_farkThis is now ... After meeting with Pharma lobbyists, Trump drops promise to negotiate drug prices.
A lot happened in the 2016 campaign, but one of the things Donald Trump did to win the election was shift to the left on a number of key issues — promising to avoid cuts in Social Security and Medicare benefits and adopting a longstanding Democratic pledge to let Medicare negotiate bulk discounts in the price it pays for prescription drugs.
Today, after a meeting with pharmaceutical industry lobbyists and executives, he abandoned that pledge, referring to an idea he supported as recently as three weeks ago as a form of “price fixing” that would hurt “smaller, younger companies.” Instead of getting tough, Trump’s new plan is that he’s “going to be lowering taxes” and “getting rid of regulations.”

“A lot of people voted Republican because they want to see a change in business as usual in Washington,” he said.
But now Trump and his allies are using the phrase’s ambiguity to deny any hypocrisy. Trump’s former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, justified his new lobbying firm (housed in the same building as Trump’s transition team, which is located one block from the White House) by claiming “drain the swamp” referred to cutting bureaucracy and creating jobs.

And.......if it turns out to have even the slightest resemblance to the truth, I would say, so what.
In 10 days the guy has done more for America than the boob before him did in 8 years. It would be about 30 promises kept and actioned, to ONE broken.
Again, when/if it's proven to not be fake news. Gotta love Vox.
How does this make the swamp deeper?

fortune.com/2017/01/31/trump-pharma-ceos-meeting-demands/How do guys like fortune.com? Too liberal? Too fill in the blank? They have an article up titled: "Big Pharma CEOs Met With Trump But They Won’t Give In to His Demands" "While several of the present CEOs responded optimistically to the meeting - praising the deregulation and tax reduction components in particular - and many of their companies' shares rose on hopes that Trump won't be as antagonistic toward drug makers as his recent comments that they're "getting away with murder" on prices would suggest, don't count on the wish list to come true." Same thing as in the OP. Now it is about deregulation and tax reduction. Guess Trump, the great negotiator, could not negotiate any better with Big Pharma then he has done so far with the President of Mexico. (Who is still paying for the wall??? The American taxpayers.) Who in God's name would think that one meeting constitutes a "negotiation"?
What do you think.....one meeting and it's over?
One meeting with "Big Pharma" and one with the Mexican president and it's over?
LOL!
Mexico is paying for the wall, what don't you get?

Figures a piss-ant like you doesn't care about this because we subsidize your health insurance ... wtf do you care, everyone else pays your bill because you're too f()cking stupid to get a real job ... you freeloading pos. When the Angry Cheeto not only doesn't negotiate the best price but gives these companies more tax breaks for no reason, then it's just more money we have to pay to subsidize your freeloading ass. Of course you don't think the swamp is getting deeper because you're a freeloading scumbag ... the swamp can't be deep enough for leeches like you.

You've lived on welfare in your mommie's basement since the day I came here. You've never worked a freaking day in your life and if it wasn't for you selling your EBT card for booze and drugs every month, you'd never see the light of day.
I pay more per month for health insurance due to 100% increases in premiums, 200% increases in deductibles, and 1000% increases in co-pays, than you've made in the last 5 years.
You define the weasel, on-the-dole-taker-Dumborat that have ruined this country.
Sober up and get off Vox. Trump is taking away your free ride and we're all glad.

Beats me man, but if an angry man says it on the Internet it must be true. The Angry Cheeto and Big Pharma walk into a room and big Pharma comes out with tax breaks and deregulated market to do what they wish and your hero the Oompa Loompa gets squat ... but hey , he signed some piece of paper bar lobbyists or some such nonsense ... and you loyal wingnut lemmings jump up and down. And then you cry 'fake news' because your ideology refuses to let you think like an adult ... you need to have it spoon fed to you from you 'approved' echo chambers else it can't be true. Yep ... ya'll keep clinging to your 'alternative facts' because reality is too hard for you dolts. Let me guess, you're in the same boat as backinblack and don't have a real job so you don't care who pays for your health insurance ... as long as it's not you. You doubting the veracity of something is HILARIOUS ... you, who just makes shit up and then runs like a poltroon when you get called on it. Tell me again about the ethnic cleansing in W Sahara that never happened ... which doesn't even show up anywhere on the internet ... but it must be true because your fevered mind just crapped it out. Hey ... maybe you could make up another quote about Clinton not liking 'real Americans' ... because if it drooled out of your mouth it must be true. Again, funny stuff ... pathetic ... but funny nonetheless. What's really funny is you planting your face in the buttocks of wikileaks ... a group that undermines our security and puts our service members lives in danger. Oh riiiight .... it's not your ass out there in the desert or hanging on to the side of a mountain, as long as you keep your lips pressed to the derrier of your betters what do you care if a soldier pays with his life for your cowardice. Pathetic Poltroon

"One meeting with "Big Pharma" and one with the Mexican president and it's over? LOL! Mexico is paying for the wall, what don't you get?" Okay. Let us say round one went to Big Pharma. As for the wall, there were 2 days with Trump and the President of Mexico. The first each sent out tweets that the meeting was not going to happen. The next day, the winner was the President of Mexico. They had a one hour phone conversation which almost certainly Trump's team arranged. At the end, joint statements were released. One difference though. The statement from the President of Mexico had one extra sentence. It said neither president will talk about the wall in public. Trump has not said one word about the wall since that statement was released days ago. So right now he has been silenced regarding the wall. And Mexico is no closer to paying for it. What part of that do you not get? If you were president of a crime-infested-corrupt-country, and you were the recipient of about $60-80 BILLION in trade favor........and the country that provides that $60-80 BILLION to you each year is saying; "you either pay $20 billion for this wall or we're taxing your incoming goods at a rate that pays for it".......would you want your citizens to know? Would you want to admit publically that you have NO CHOICE on earth but to cave and pay for the wall? Or sacrifice your meal ticket?
Seriously.....you're a lawyer?

And the hits keep coming ... literally ... this time it's the Angry Cheeto killing US citizens abroad ... and not just US citizens that have joined ISIS ... but he's killing the children of those people as well. You wingnuts must be strutting around like puffed up chickenlittles with the news that the Angry Cheeto has greenlighted the killing of children ... and a bonus sure to bring a smile to SB's face, a Navy Seal was killed in the raid.
Trump administration reverses itself on military targeting US citizens overseas
The Trump administration walked back its position on whether the military would target U.S. citizens overseas with ties to extremists.
Hours after White House press secretary Sean Spicer told reporters that "no American citizen will ever be targeted" in overseas operations, a White House official clarified.
It turns out "U.S. policy regarding the possible targeting of American citizens has not changed."
The military could kill a suspected terrorist who has U.S. citizenship if the government believes the person is an "imminent" threat to the country.
Former President Obama's administration used that argument to kill alleged al-Qaeda leader Anwar al-Awlaki, who was born in the U.S., in a 2011 drone strike in Yemen.
A counterterrorism raid approved by President Trump reportedly killed al-Awlaki's 8-year-old daughter over the weekend. The girl was also an American citizen, according to NBC.

In all the news, this story should not be lost. We have suffered our first combat casualties under Donald Trump. An 8 year old girl was killed along with several other non-combats. We also lost NAVY SEAL Team 6 member Officer William Owens. There will be an investigation and hopefully we will know everything that happened. What we do know now is several people are dead in Trump's first raid. What we do know now is Officer William Owens gave the full measure of sacrifice in Yemen so we could live our lives in the United States of America. Were you this outraged when her 16yr old brother was killed on owebummer's watch?

In your drunken mind, one meeting means it's over right. It's so cute how you think there will be no more discussion and some Mexican corrupt dope out negotiated our president (in your fantasy) That trade deficit of up to $80 Bil is just fine with you, right?
Why wouldn't it be? It has no effect on someone that gets everything free. It's actually a good thing that you've spent your life on the welfare gravy train, getting your freebies from Uncle Sugar. Imagine if you were out in the world and had to negotiate something/anything? You'd be like Tommy-Boy in that "I said no.....Okee-Dokee" scene.
Mexico will be paying for the wall and freeloaders like you will never know, care, or be affected. That's what a real president, a real negotiator does.

"Let me guess, you're in the same boat as backinblack and don't have a real job so you don't care who pays for your health insurance ... as long as it's not you."
Do you really not understand that people who were dumped from their health insurance had to go to a non-working web-site (for 6 months), and then ultimately into an exchange to PAY DOUBLE what they were paying for lousy coverage?
Do you really not get that?
"If I liked my plan I could keep my plan"....."If I like my doctor I can keep my doctor" WRONG AND WRONG!!!!!
The amount I pay for insurance DOUBLED with one silly vote by Democrats and a stroke of the pen by a fool president, my co-pays went up almost 1000% (yes 1000%), deductibles went up 100%, premiums 200%. I pay MORE for health insurance than you have ever made in your life.
What's wrong with you?

Heh, heh, heh ... suddenly the whacko wingnuts don't want to jump to conclusions based on what a politician says. The freaking hypocrisy runs deep in this one ...Please point out where I have jumped to conclusions in the past......... But at least you have admitted that you were jumping to conclusions......... That thread on corporate taxes where you kept regurgitating whacko wingnut talking points stating unequivocally that lowering corp tax to 15% would save the majority of companies in the country money. Then I showed how ignorant you were because 70% of companies are pass-through entities and don't pay income taxes on profits ... then both you and SB ran away after getting slapped by facts that disproved your ideological ignorance. Or that Clinton was guilty of all sorts of crimes yet after decades of witchhunts by you whacko wingnuts not a single charge was ever brought ... and you idiots still 'know' she's guilty.
