I guess its time to start talking about healthcare again, seeing as the GOP Congress is poised to deliver an ObamaCare repeal bill to President Trump sometime next month.
Time will tell what they come up with: A repeal without replacement? A repeal and replacement minus the 'bad' parts (like the mandate)? Repeal with a delayed replacement? Something new altogether? Something identical to Obamacare, but re branded as TrumpCare?
One thing is for sure, republicans will own what comes after this repeal, just as the Dems own Obamacare.
My opinion is that repealing ObamaCare without a replacement is radical, not conservative. Conservative would be to fix what isn't working, I think.
Will they be conservative or radical?

So you're not going to give them seven or eight years to blame Obama?

We're suddenly seeing a strange new respect for accountability.

If this law is repealed with a "promise" of a replacement in a couple years, will there be any incentive for insurers to keep offering plans that have no long-term future?

I work on the hospital side, but to answer your question...no, there will be ZERO incentive to offer the exchange plans.

Only issue with that is most people don't really understand how healthcare and insurance works. Most people I talk to think Obamacare is a health plan. It's scary how uninformed most people are

I think its safe to say that Congressional Republicans have been lying through their teeth about repeal and replace. It was always about repeal only, and tax relief for the donor class is the reason.
And as predicted millions of people will no longer be insured. Some people will die, and many rural hospitals will close because the only thing keeping the lights on was the Medicaid funding made possible by the ACA.

Obamacare defined what an insurance policy had to cover. If your policy didn't meet that standard, then you had to pick a new policy, but you were guaranteed to qualify for one regardless of your health. The difference is hardly comparable.

When Obamacare was implemented, upwards of 40 million Americans lost their health insurance and were forced to the exchanges. I know, I was one of them. Only problem was, the exchanges/website didn't work, they didn't work for 6 months, the plans offered (when it finally was PARTIALLY fixed), were DOUBLE the cost for HALF the services. It was (and remains to this day) a disaster.
Today my premiums have risen 200%, deductibles 300%, and co-pays went from $25 to $350. None of this happened until the idiot-incompetent won his 2nd term. I immediately changed my voter affiliation.
The Obamacare nightmare is what drove the Tea Party, lost over 1000 seats in Federal, State, and local government for the Dems, and contributed significantly to Hellary's loss.
Millions lost their insurance and Libs said nothing.
It's exactly comparable.
