Anna seemed unhappy the whole night. Her performance too, very low energy
Perhaps she knew the fix was in and that she was about to be kicked off?
I'm speculating obviously. I have no idea what happened
But her one word response to Julianne seemed like a big FU to me
I suspect she regrets the whole experience now and wishes she never signed up for it. Social media beat her up pretty good
I would have liked to see more of her, but I didn't find her all that charming though, did you?
I thought she'd be more seductive and fun. Oh, well
Alan is a brave young man. Hoisting Big Ilona up like that took guts. I hope he didn't hurt himself
She seems pretty personable though. Light on her feet too for a big girl. I think I may start rooting for her now
The kiss seems innocent to me, Robin, but Gleb is a sucker for beautiful women. He's single now though, right? So he won't get in any trouble at home this time:)

Anna was hurt, I suspect she's more fragile than people realize. She doesn't need DWTS anyway, she will be okay. Gleb is single, but according to Wikipedia, Brooks is dating someone. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brooks_Nader"She began dating Prince Constantine Alexios of Greece and Denmark in 2024".

Anna brought DWTS a lot of attention the show wouldn't have received otherwise
It was negative attention, of ourse:)
But she got people talking and tuning in
I wish she had tried a little harder; I don't think she gave it her full effort
Would have been nice too if she had a more experienced pro partner. Like Artem, who we mentioned previously. Or Val
If paired with Val, Anna would still be around, i'm sure
Despite all of her baggage

She got used.
I think she may be clinically depressed.
They gave her a newbie as a partner. I am sure Ezra did everything he could to support her, but he didn't have the established popularity and fan base that Artem or Val could have brought to the table that may have resulted in more votes.
They both got used.
The whole thing was a setup for both of them, unfortunately.

Set up to fail, Robin. Anna did not get a fair shake. I agree
She served her purpose and was then disposed of
I have a question though
When was the last time Val was paired off with a middle aged gal with thunder thighs? A: Never
Is it possible the show wanted Val to dance with Anna, but he refused?
I'm asking because Val is almost always teamed with a graceful, waifish young ingenue, not a beefy, overweight adult woman in her early 50's
Phaedra Parks is not a typical Val dance partner. Not even close to one actuallly. She and Val are a very odd pairing
Just sayin'

I thought of that too.
They all refused to be paired with her.
People can be cruel. I've seen that kind of pack mentality in the workplace. When they all gang up on someone, it's not pretty.
Ezra had a positive attitude, I hope they don't discard him too :(

Well, that would really be something if the pro's all refused to dance with Anna
Even if not true, it makes for a pretty good conspiracy threory, huh?
Not sure if you saw, but Anna gave a defiant interview to NBC yesterday
Here are the quotes:
* I feel that the show so obviously used me to drive up the ratings, that they never had any plans to give me any chance to grow and only cared about exploiting me for attention
* It was predatory of them to try [to] make me feel inadequate and stupid all while I did get progressively better yet they chose to disregard that
* It felt like I was never really given a fair chance by the viewers or some of the judges’ given their nonsensical scoring
Also on GMA Wednesday she was asked what her favorite part of being on DWTS was, and she replied, "getting eliminated" lol

Right on. Good for Anna! She got scammed, although I am pretty sure DWTS pay you for every performance that you are not eliminated. And there is the publicity that leads to $. So it wasn't a total loss.
She kind of reminds me of Amber Heard, Johnny's ex. Something about her...
I'll have to see if I can find that interview. I hope she said something nice about Ezra, after all he did try to make it work and she had improved.
PS: “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade” Anna knows how to do this.

Here is the 411:
Dancing With the Stars contestants typically receive a starting salary of $125,000, which covers their rehearsal period and the first two weeks of competition. After that, their salary may increase biweekly, depending on how far they advance in the competition: Weeks 3–4: An extra $10,000 per week Week 5: A bonus of $15,000 Weeks 6–7: An added $20,000 per week Weeks 8–9: An extra $30,000 per week Semi-finals and finale: An additional $50,000, plus the Mirror Ball trophy if they win Depending on the length of the season, these weekly bonuses can add up to over $360,000. As of 2020, Variety reported that the most a contestant could make in the competition was capped at $295,000.

I like Anna's bravado. She is refusing to bow out gracefully
Very unfiltered too
I dunno about the the Amber Heard comparison though, Robin. Both women were subject to much public hostility, but America was way more invested in its hatred for AH than for Anna
Also Amber is such a B. Except for her good looks, there was nothing about her I liked
Interesting about the payments. Basically a 125K appearance fee plus bonuses added week to week
Pretty good dough for these d-listers!

Eric Roberts last night. He's still got it! It doesn't matter that he can't dance, lol. The women love him!

He's still a handsome guy, Robin. Still has that great hair going for him. It's just gray now
When in hold, he looks like he is about to teeter over at any moment, but I guess he did okay
One gal who really loves him is nutty fangirl Carrie Anne who gave him a 7 for that performance. Meanwhile YDH gave out a 5 which seems way more on target to me
Overall I thought the show did a good job paying homage to Soul Train. If the ghost of Don Cornelius was looking down on the ballroom last night, I hope he was pleased by what he saw
Looks like Joey and Chandler are the runaway favorites at this point
Joey and Chandler? Hmmm. Where have I heard those names before?
Double elimination night. If I were Dwight, I'd be worried. His scores were very low
Also the great Gene Simmons as guest judge tonight! Woo hoo! I love Gene. I'm looking forward to seeing him

Hi, Ache
Well that was predictable. I thought the extra tall guy would be gone, maybe next time.
Gene Simmons has a hand tremor, did you notice. I guess everybody ages, it's inevitable.
I never got into the 80's music, it just sounds like noise to me :)

Didn't notice the tremor. I'm bummed to find out he has one. Are you sure, Robin? He looked and sounded like the same ol' Gene Simmons to me
His scores were all over the place though
He started out overscoring everybody; he gave Danny, for instance, a 9 when the others gave him a 7
Then later when the other judges all gave Phaedra a 7 for her dance, Gene lowballed her with a 5 lol
I wonder if he picked up the wrong paddle by mistake?
Meanwhile Bruno dubbed Joey "leader of the pack, and I do not disagree. After his tango last night Joey leapfrogged Chandler and now sits alone atop my personal Season 33 Power Rankings
Bachelorette Jenn is number three
And finally happy trails to both Eric and Reg. Two good guys, but at this stage in their lives, DWTS is not in their wheelhouse anymore
Sorry, fellas, time to go

He didn't say anything that crossed the line IMO, but you're not allowed to compliment a woman on her good looks anymore because doing so might make her feel "unsafe" or something.
And the idiots on Facebook and Twitter. It makes them feel unsafe too
Pre-social media this never would have even been an issue
I hope he doesn't issue a public apology
Don't apologize, Gene!
Keep rockin'!

He gave the rugby girl a low score of 5, lol. Didn't he date Cher way back when? I'll have to look him up.
Edit: Looked him up on Wikipedia, he's an interesting dude. No drugs or alcohol, but quite the womanizer.

Ummm, I don't remember if Gene and Cher ever hooked up together. He claims to have slept with over 4000 women though, so maybe she was one if the lucky 4000:)
PS He also tried to give the super model, Brook, a 10 Tuesday night. Pretty sure it wasn't just for her awesome dance moves
Yes, a rock n roller who never abused drugs or alcohol. That alone makes him unique

I was wrong about last week, it was Phaedra that Gene gave the 5 to, not the rugby player.
That was a shocker, I didn't expect Gleb and the model to be eliminated so soon!
What a nightmare Derek and hayley went through. I mean you think you have problems till you hear a story like that. Miracle is right.

I missed nearly all of the YDH and wife segment. What is the medical issue Haley is faced with? Is she fully recovered at this point? Or is it an ongoing thing she is still dealing with?
After last night: Danny, trending up; Chandler, trending down
And Joey just keeps rolling along, making it look easy. He's going to win too, Robin. Guarantee
Surprised, but not sorry to see Brook go. Something about super models I just don't like
The sisters are nice though

Beautiful young woman seemingly in the peak of health, and the next thing you know she's in the OR having brain surgery performed on her
Pretty scary stuff. Glad she is doing okay though
She's 30 by the way. I looked her up. Birthday was just last week

Okay, Robin, I won't tellya. But, yeah, Halloween. Shocker, huh? Another good week for Danny Amendola! He received the highest judge's scores again last night (tied Chandler with 27). That is two weeks in a row he has topped the leaderboard now. Very impressive His star just keeps on rising His last two dances though (ontempoary and jazz) were not ballroom. Let's see how he does when he is back "in hold" Yeah, Disney Night is awful, but I didn't hate it as much last night like I usually do. I don't know why ether!

Yeah, Jenn was good. Had a built in support base too from having been on The Bachelor and Bachelorette. Thought fans of those shows would vote her through and keep her safe for at least another few weeks The ballroom was very dark last night, Robin. I know they were going for the spooky Halloween effect, but too shadowy for me. It obscured many of the performances IMO. I kept waiting for them to turn the lights back up PS 500th episode show two weeks hence But do the math: 33 seasons & 10 shows per season 33 X 10 = 330 Where did they come up with the other 170 episodes?

I'm watching the Golden Bachelorette right now. Never thought I would watch this stupid show. But without cable there isn't much to pick from.
While I find it entertaining, it seems phony to me, these people don't seem real. Perfect teeth, perfect hair. I can't help thinking they are all actors :)

Ache, when you said the show was dark I thought of the number between the tall guy and Daniella and all I could think of was domestic violence, the way he was throwing her around and all. I think that's when I tuned out...

I can't help thinking they are all actors Good looking extroverts with great hair who enjoy being the center of attention and who aspire to become famous That's how I'd describe typical contestants on The Bachelor and BacheloretteThey're not all like that obviously, but generally speaking I mean Some may have acting experience too, I don't know. Would make sense if they do though. Many interactions on the show seem staged, so having acting talent would come in handy, I'm sure:)
