Let me edit that post for the vocabulary police:

If Trupm [sic] was president [The subjunctive (in this instance a "condition contrary to fact") requires "were" here, not "was", ie "If Trump were president"], he'd be throwing out big fluffy [You neglected to include a comma in between the coordinating adjectives "big" and "fluffy"] rolls of paper towels to a small crowd of supporters, ya know ["ya" used in place of "you" is nonstandard English. "ya know" is an informal locution that is more appropriate for a vocal communication rather than a written one], because they lost everything, and that [An ambiguous reference. To what does "that" refer?] would help!! [Ending a sentence that is only mildly exclamatory (if at all) with two exclamation points is awkward and excessive. Next time use a period]

“This is an island, surrounded by water. Big water. Ocean water,” -Trump on Puerto Rico "I'd like to begin by sending our thoughts and prayers to the people of Puerto Rico, who have been struck by storms of historic and catastrophic severity," Trump said. "We've undertaken a massive federal mobilization to assist Puerto Rico."
The president said 10,000 emergency responders and other personnel had been sent to the island. Emphasizing the difficulty of the task of rebuilding devastated areas, Trump noted that the US territory is "an island surrounded by water."
"The response and recovery effort probably has never been seen for something like this," Trump said. "This is an island surrounded by water, big water, ocean water."
He added that Puerto Rico would have to rebuild its infrastructure.
"The electrical grid and other infrastructure were already in very, very poor shape, they were at their life's end prior to the hurricanes, and now virtually everything has been wiped out," Trump said. "We're literally starting from scratch."Where's the lie?

Lie? Huh? I never mentioned a lie. If you want Trump lies, there are books filled with his lies. The recovery should fit the disaster, no? Even if it's surrounded by ....lots of water and a big ocean....oh my gosh!

Even if it's surrounded by ....lots of water and a big ocean....oh my gosh! He was commenting on the challenges of getting aid to an island in the middle of an ocean. The bigger challenge, as we later found out, was getting the aid to the people through the absolutely corrupt PR government.

I knew from the start the whole thing would be mishandled and Trump throwing out towels to people who needed "real" disaster help was just a bellweather of the impeding failures that resulted and have never been mitigated. He never really believed PR was an annex of America and fell under Americas pervue and thus simply ignored the problem.

Do you think that the PR effort was better, same, or worse than the one in Maui?

Spinning like a top and grasping at straws.
Who cares about PR? Trump is the king of PR. Just ask a sycophantic Maga Moron. You know, those stooges who go to his speeches and are then used as comic fodder on nightly talk shows.

To answer your PR question, I dont think the Lahaina fire disater hasnt really been assessed yet and no one has compained except for "where was Pearl Harbor"? while the PR disater never really began because they were another country, too far away and surrounded by a lot of water. Five years later...the GAO is workin' on it.
