Looks like our pre-season picks were on the money, andi. All three performed beautifully last night. Slight edge to Josh maybe, but the other two are right on his tail. Really impressed by Marai' body control during her routine. Figure skaters often get little respect, but they are good athletes Tonya: I swear the judges purposely up-voted her to ensure she made it into next week. She danced okay, but I question those two 8's she received. Even the 7 from Bruno seemed generous to me. The fix had to be in And she is even more disturbing to look at than I realized: the ponderous breasts, the big fat belly and ass, the false teeth. Ugh. Did you see her working those choppers at the judge's table? So gross! Twenty four years later too she is still griping about being banned from figure skating. Ugly hag. She's lucky she never had to do time. She should have been thrown in jail for what she did At least she landed in the bottom 3 though, so she had to sweat it a little. I'm disappointed she wasn't sent home, but maybe next week Johnny: Too bulky! All those muscles that helped him jerk balls out of the yard in his playing days did him no good last night in the ballroom. Plus he's lefthanded. Lefties often look awkward when dancing for some reason Other notables: I enjoyed Jennie's foxtrot with Keo. And the luge guy performed some impressive spins with pro partner, Whitney I almost fell asleep too, Robin! But I fought off the slumber and powered through the whole show:) I was very happy Tonya landed in the bottom three despite scores I thought were too high. Her face when they were going to make the announcement of the only couple who was safe was priceless. She looked on the verge of tears. Like luge guy as well. I do believe the winner will come from our choices unless there is an accident.

I managed to watch Tonya's and Adam's performances on YouTube today before my YouTube connection malfunctioned. So far I agree with everything that has been said in previous comments.

I rented the movie I,Tonya from the library, mostly because I want to see Allison Janney's performance. Going to watch it tonight. I hope it's good. I need a distraction, what a month I have had

Allison Janney was great. The rest of it, meh. The movie is sympathetic towards Tonya. I dozed off for about 20 minutes and I am not motivated enough to go back and see what I missed :-)
I will definitely stay awake and watch DWTS tomorrow night. I promise.

You had an eventful last month, Robin? I hope everything is okay
I heard the movie depicts Nancy in a very unflattering way, and Tonya as a victim of her upbringing. Blech. Pretty sure I would hate it going in

Things are okay at the moment. Thanks for asking, Ache.
Stuff happens.
Yeah, the movie sucked, except for Allison Janney. I ran it again today, after all I paid a buck to rent it :-)

It happened again! I dozed off a little after 9p :-(
I guess I'm just not that into it this season. Just two shows left.

I did catch a recap on GMA this morning while I was on the treadmill at the gym. Feel bad for Haley the troupe dancerr that lifted the other one so she could be as tall as Kareem. Her poor back.

Kareem and the female basketball player got eliminated last night.
I thought that was a good choice.
Neither of them moved very well, esp. compared to the rest of the contestants.
Our top three choices are still doing the best.
It is half over already. Jeepers.

Robin, I'm gonna buy you an energy drink next week, okay? Maybe that will help. You're starting to act like Slim now, struggling to make it through an entire show:)
But that's alright!
Did you see Tonya at least? Hate to say it, but she was actually very good last night. Looked like she was enjoying herself too. I even liked her individual performance within the group dance. She did some jive-y flicks & kicks that were excellent IMO. For a fat girl, she moves pretty well
I still say she is repulsive - both inside and out - but last night in the ballroom she was outstanding
Also: The two young figure skaters were superb once again. They've got quite a friendly rivalry going. It's a shame we only get to see them four weeks. I'd have liked to watch an entire season's worth of performances out of those two
If I had to choose between them, I'd pick Marai right now. She's so elegant, graceful. I prefer her to Trump hating moonbat, Adam. But he's great too

I did see Tonya. But not the team dance. This is just too quick and predictable.
Thanks, Andie.
Yep the flowers are blooming, the birds are nesting and the snakes are out. Great time of year!

I made it through the whole show!
I was rooting for Mirai.
I can't believe Tonya made it to the finals.
This season is way to short....

Nice going, Robin! I knew you'd do it. Way to shake off that slumber. Well done:)
Bummed about Marai. She deserved to make it to the finale. Seems a little unjust she won't be there. I'm going to miss her next week
But Tonya is not undeserving. She danced well again last night and earned her spot. Much as I hate to admit it, she is actually quite good
Almost found myself rooting for her too, but then I reminded myself how despicable she is, and I went back to hating her again:)
Looks like Adam sealed it last night. That contemporary routine he performed was outstanding. Unless America decides to make this Tonya's "season of redemption", Adam should win the MBT, right?
PS Raining there yet?

Still raining, but it's quiet now except fo4 an occasional rumble.

Totally disappointed and surprised that Marai did not make it to the finals.
I think Adam probably. But I would be fine with Josh. Just not Tonya. If she ugly cried one more time I was going to lose it.
Here I was at a doctor's appointment and hoping to get home before the monsoon began.
I did. It was very heavy with thunder. Unplugged things because I once lost a TV due to a similar storm
Finals nice week until

Haha At least there was no footage this week (like there was each of the first two weeks) of Tonya climbing into her giant pick-up truck The obligatory Tonya Harding working class image. *groan* We were spared that on Monday, so I'm thankful

PS: Did you watch the royal wedding?
Very nice. I think it's the real thing :-)
Wish her bio family would just go away. Except for her mother, of course. I thought it was sad to see her mother alone at the event. Her mother was the only blood relative of MM's out of 600 guests to be invited to the wedding (other than the father).

Hi, Robin
Sad to say, I did not watch a single moment of the RW yesterday. The bride is absolutely spectacular to look at though. Wow. She is gorgeous
I had heard about some rift in her family but paid no attention to it, so I'm in the dark about everything. Only her mother attended? That's weird
Novemberbride-y is the new member, huh? There were two "bride-y's" of OBN as I recall. Novbride-y is the one who was always talking about buying her son sneakers and stuff like that, right?
Now that one ex-OBN'er has joined, I wonder if the others will soon follow. This is something we need to keep an eye on

I know. They must be lurking, lol
I wonder if they know about that religious site that one of the ex OBNs participates in? I think some of them go to Pinterest......I don't know how to navigate that site, plus they use different names.
That Meredith person was on WBZ Talk Radio at 3 AM the other night, something about a new book? Don't know, I fell asleep while she was talking.

Post by Ache on May 20, 2018 15:30:15 GMT -5
Well, the ex-OBN'er who participates at a religious site must be Kargiver, right? She was the Jesus freak of the group
Meredith? You mean the Love Letters gal? I don't know much about her. I know you liked some of them, but the LL people we met at our old board always struck me as a bunch of goofs

Yep, it was that Meredith, she was also on Chronicle for a minute, a week or two ago. Promoting a book based on LL.

You didn't miss much, Robin. It wasn't exactly an epic finale. Too much of a rush job, just like the season itself.
At the end they didn't even pare the dancers down to a final 2 like the usually do to build a little excitement. Instead they just had all three pairings standing up there on stage, and a winner was announced
And, yes, it was Adam (as I'm sure you know by now), even though he performed a flat Free style dance. He was the only one of the three who failed to receive a perfect score
Kind of a blah ending to a rather blah season
I never watched "The Middle". Ditto "Roseanne", either in its original version or new
Just one of those shows I never got into

This season was definitely a disappointment. Way too quick.
I hope this doesn't mean that DWTS has "jumped the shark"
I did read that there will be a season 27, for sure.

This season was definitely a disappointment. Way too quick. I hope this doesn't mean that DWTS has "jumped the shark" I did read that there will be a season 27, for sure. Huge disappointment to me. At least Tonya did not win. Hopefully now, after the film and now DWTS she will go back to wherever she has been. Saw clips of the Royal Wedding. The reaction of some of the royals to the black preacher were hysterical. Meghan’s dad, Thomas Markle was set to walk his daughter down the aisle, but in the days leading up to the ceremony he made headlines after admitting he had staged paparazzi photos and didn’t want to embarrass his daughter or the royal family any further. What followed was several days of back-and-forth as Thomas, who lives in Mexico, initially walked back his decision not to attend and then ultimately announced that his health would keep him from traveling to the U.K. I think they will be fine. She is very different from others who have married into the family. She is bi-racial, from a divorced family, divorced, an actress.
